Point Commission for :icontowathestallion45: of her gorgeous stallion Towa

After seeing the `Crickatoo goat submission I decided to try this tutorial out: [link]. This is my first time painting it all in black and white and then layering the colors on top. I must say it was far easier to look at the values because I'm very good with black and white, but I struggle with color. I'm glad I tried this new way out, but I'm not sure which one is faster. I had a ton of layers when I was done with this and I prefer working with fewer layers.

Anyways enjoy and I hope this cheers you up Towa and I had so much fun drawing this for you. Thank you for being patient.

Thank you. :) I suppose it really helped to start this off in black and white and overlay color on top. This is now one of my favorites.

Mmmm I watched a lot of tutorials where people make their digital paintings first competely in b/w only and then only add colours in one of the last steps.. I don't really like the thought of doing it like that, I'd rather start with the colours right away I guess

Yeah I always start with color first, but I decided to try that method since I struggle with color. It works, bit I agree with you. It's more fun to start with color first.

I know this has turned into one of my favorites now just because of all the colors. Not to mention this is my first sunset I think.

It really is very colourful! :la: And for your first sunset, you've painted it real well -- it almost looks as if it were out of a photograph!

Thank you. :D I've done a few sunsets with oil paints, but never digitally so I'm happy the way it turned out here. This one has probably turned into one of my favorites now.
